We are thrilled to announce that Ballymahon Vocational School has officially been recognised as an ADHD Friendly School by ADHD Ireland, and the first school in County Longford to achieve this accreditation. This accreditation highlights our ongoing commitment to inclusive education and ensuring that every student feels supported and empowered. This initiative has been led out by Ms. Caroline Corkery and Ms. Denise Smyth.

Our dedicated staff completed specialised training to better understand ADHD and related neurodiverse conditions, learning practical strategies to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. We also hosted informative webinars for students and parents, fostering a stronger, more connected school community and equipping families with tools to confidently navigate the educational journey.
Our School Principal and Deputy Team Mr. O'Rourke and Ms. Calvey expressed their delight at this achievement, reaffirming the school’s mission to create a supportive environment where all students can thrive and reach their full potential.
